The town of Korčula, said tobe the home of Marco Polo, was mostly built in the 15th century and features an impressive fish bone structure. The island's localpopulation were once famous for their decorative stone carving work, which to this day still adorn the city's facades. We highly recommend walking around the walls to grasp the diverse nature of this city. Walk along the Stradun, the promenade insidethe old city walls and meander the alleyways to discover numerous local restaurants, shops and bars. The city is wonderfully captivating, with its stone walls and historic charm.

SPLIT YOUR TIME

With around 1,200 islands along the coast of Croatia, there are many public ferry options to get around and island hop. Always be sure to check schedules beforehand, as some ferry companies don't run frequently during the day or throughout the week. While it rarely gets cold along the Dalmatian Coast, Zagreb and other inland destinations have four distinct seasons. If you cruise to Croatia during the shoulder seasons — April and October — make sure to pack accordingly.
